Router Help

Name: Anonymous 2007-08-13 20:38 ID:YJKWwudB

So /comp/, I bought a new laptop today and decided it hook it up to my router. It connected fine, but it says that I only have limited access and it is not letting me connect to the internet. I tried shutting down both machines, unplugging the router then replugging and rebooting, but still no success.

Im a bit of a newfag to the whole wireless network deal, so some help would be appreciated.

Need more info. What router are you using? Do you have DHCP server disabled? MAC filtering?

This "limited access" is what Windows calls it when it doesn't get a DHCP response for whatever reason. Since you're connecting via wlan, my first guess would be that you didn't configure WPA correctly. Go through the configuration in your router and laptop again. Also disable MAC filtering for now as >2 mentioned. You can reenable it after getting it to work.
