I wanna get get charter cable internet.

Does the amount of RAM on my computer have anything to do with getting it? Once we tried to get it but it fried our computer but that's when we had bad wiring.

There is 128 MB of ram on the comp and our budget is limited. In theory could we get cable internet and not fry our computer like last time?

ALso if you need anything else just ask.

In case this is not a troll:

The web doesn't care about your OS, speed of RAM. That said, you need a cheap network card to connect to cable or DSL. You also need to have at least 256 MB RAM if I'm right in suspecting you run Windows 2000. If you run XP, you should buy double that, but a gig is recommended. The reason is that you'll end up upgrading programs just to watch videos, with needs for newer IE, Firefox, realplayer, Quicktime, Java runtimes and even... spyware protection.

Get a free firewall like Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall before you do anything close to connecting to the web. Even if you have XP, you should just get the executable on a jump/flash drive instead and make sure you've rebooted before even connecting the cable uplink to the PC. Research shows you'll be spywared in just minutes, otherwise.

Now, get more RAM. A new PC would be best, but I'm running fine on Win2k with 384MB RAM and Firefox 1.06. Upgrading programs to their latest versions will bringyou a better, safer, seamless web, but will slow down our old PCs. If you're not a technician like me, you should probably buy a cheap Wallmart PC before considering all the hassle, though. Good luck. I don't browse this part of 4chan
