Startup problem. Help!!

I need help please. After i log into my account, on vista, it brings me to a black screen with "documents" open and nothing else. There's no wallpaper, start menu etc. If i then run the task manager and tell it new task and then explorer.exe, it brings everything back. Also when i double click on explorer.exe, it brings up "documents." I've tried logging onto the guest account on my computer, but with no luck, it does the same thing except with a blueish background. I KNOW VISTA SUCKS, please don't reply telling me to install xp.

That's what I'm trying to tell you, it could be anything, and there's no good way to find out what it is. Registry corruption, filesystem corruption, virus, Windows bug... who knows. Do a virus scan at the very least, system restore (does Vista still do those restore points XP does? Do that if so), etc.

I could tell you where to look if you were using Linux, but with Windows, there's no way to tell.

every one smart know expertional windows is better than vista... so instal xp and dont be so crying about not telling you to. windows vista is not finishd yet doh

You say you do know, but you don't really.  Stop using Vista since it's an oozing sore on the rotting ass of a dead possum.

GO BACK TO USING WINDOWS XP.

Since your Vista is hosed, now is the perfect time to make the switch, wouldn't you say?
