Data recovery service

Does anyone know a company that can recover data from a damaged hard drive?  I've tried hooking the disk up to another computer and running Active Undelete on it, but it doesn't work.  They hard drive has bad sectors.

Also, how much could I expect it to cost to get the service done?

I have no idea what's happened to this thing, my sister brought it in.  It's from a laptop, and she has tons of fucking kids running around all the time, so I have no doubt that it probably has smashed into the floor more than once.

One day the operating system just stopped working, so she decided to run knoppix disk utilities on it, because apparently that's what hackers do when their computers fuck up.  She ended up deleting the entire partition map.

I asked her if it had been dropped a lot, and she steadfastly denies it, so I'll just say that it developed bad sectors out of the blue.  I can access the drive contents just fine from XP, but Active undelete just freezes up about a tenth of the way in and refuses to go any further; every read attempt apparently results in failure.

So, do you know the contact information for any of these companies, preferably in the southeastern united states? Google avails nothing, I must not know what to search for.
