ventrilo server

i set up a ventrilo server on my computer, and use the DNS setting on my site so now my vent server is vent.mysite.com. is there any risk of leaving this on for my friends?

also, what other cool stuff is there that involves connecting to my PC with my IP address that i can do this DNS thing with? is there a way i can send people files like this?

FTP: filezilla server
 for best security don't run it on default FTP port (you WILL get attacked)
 (assuming windows; for ultimate security linux box + vsftpd of course)

Ventrilo servers are safe. Just keep it up to date. You could also set up a web server on your computer and that would allow people to download stuff from your computer.
