Fucking Bios upgrade not working i think

Here is the deal.  I have a bootable floppy to update my bios and when it says its updating i wait for hours and hours and the floppy drive makes no noise what so ever and the light doesnt flash on it. SO, i have 3 options 1. kill myself 2. throw my piece of shit dell out the window 3. make a bootable cd, but I have no programs to do that with and im broke. 4. kill myself 5. kill myself. 

Any sugestions besides 1,2,4, and 5?

Its possible you didn't format/install the update to your floppy correctly, or that your floppy is bad. Fsck it for bad sectors etc. Can you still boot? I thought that a failed BIOS flash would lead to a dud chip forcing you to replace it.
