I'm currently running a 256RAM Pentium III piece of shit.

Running Firefox and winamp (with the classic skin) lags like a bitch.

How can improve my computers' response speeds without buying a new processor?

Yeah, the Pentium 3 sucks ass.  The Pentium 2 is superior.  Also, it's from the good old days when computers were worth something, nowadays they are all about wasting power and radiating heat.
