Hay all
So, I am going to be getting a small desktop computer to install a LAMP server on it. I want to have a DNS server also.
I have a domain on godaddy.com that I want to use on this server, so when you go to mydomain.com, it shows that server using nameservers, not the IP redirect bullshit.
Problem is, I have no clue how to do this. I don't know if it's possible to do this from a home ISP or not, but there is a thread on the ubuntu forums saying how to create a dns server:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=236093
I don't understand how my domain on godaddy.com is supposed to be setup on the server. I heard that you need something like a no-ip.com domain to utilize this, and then have the domain on godaddy point to the nameservers from the no-ip domain you create.
Can someone shed some light on this for me?
