I got a call today from a friend saying he got a new Samsung 22" monitor. They also took one of the PCs from their office to use it with. Okay, great. I go over to help them set it up and discover that there is , not surprisingly, not a DVI port on this 2.8 Celeron D Compaq with integrated graphics. I tried the Analog output, and got nothing. I took the PC back to my house and tried it with an old dell LCD i know works. Nothing. Then, thinking that maybe the cable was bad, i switched it out. Still nothing.
Both of the monitors acted like they weren't even getting a signal from the computer. The only thing I can think of is that the integrated ghraphics are somehow borked. To make it worse, there isn't even a AGP slot. I am going to recommend that they buy an el cheapo PCI card with DVI output (or buy a new computer), but might anyone have any idea why the integrated crap refuses to work?
