list of stuff for building a PC

hey /comp/.

i'm looking to build my own PC in the near future, but i've realised i'm not sure of what parts i actually need in order for it to run.  obviously i know about essentials such as a CPU, RAM, a MOTHERBOARD etc., but wondering if there's more obscure items i might need (such as cables, screws) that the ordinary dude might not know about.

i'd be grateful if someone could make a basic checklist for me.

thanks in advance!

Magnetic screwdrivers rock hard when recovering dropped screws, but they can mess with any kind of storage device if left near them too long. Also, make sure that whenever you work on the inside of a computer you dispel static electricity by touching something metal besides the computer. You can blow out sensitive electronic devices if you don't.

Try here for a start on building.
