I've got a Presario 2500 with that reader/writer installed. I can read DVD:s and write CD:s. But can I also write DVD:s with it? If so, can someone please tell me of some good, free DVD-writing program. Please help!

No, it can't. Its not a DVD burner.

All you had to do was google "HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4241N" and do a little research.
