Multiple monitors on a laptop

I tried to use the duelveiw thing, but when I check the box to extend my desktop and hit apply the box just unchecks. Also I cant change which is the dominant monitor.

Photoshop CS3 was released a few days ago. Use that instead of the GIMP.
