I was thinking about buying one of those TV Tuner PCI cards for my computer. However, I use onboard video. Do I need a good video card for a TV tuner card to function properly?

Then you don't need to spend $5000 on a video card plus $2000 on Adobe software to watch TV. Just buy anything. You have a real computer. Anything will do. You won't need any special video card. TV is drawn using overlays. Even a Pentium 2 with an S3 Virge will handle that, true story.

Although a lot of the TV tuner cards are pieces of shit in terms of bundled software, CPU drain, image quality and lag from the source.
I always liked the All in Wonder Radeon cards. But fuck knows what's good now, just make sure to read reviews before you decide.
