Nintendo DS Static IP / Zydas Router

Sup

I bought a WiFiMAX Dongle to connect my Wii and DS to the internet from my dorm room, where there is no wireless Internet. I bought this after having absolutely zero luck getting the official Nintendo USB stick to work.

Well this one does work, and i'm very pleased and relieved at the results I DO get. This dongle actually comes with a network driver, Zydas ZD1211b 802.11b+g, and it acts as an actual router, unlike the Nintendo adaptor. I got it all set up and i'm able to finally access the Internet and updates and downloads with my Wii and I can finally connect to the Nintendo WFC with the DS. I can even secure the WiFi connection with a WEP key so that nobody in another room leeches my connection for some strange reason.

HOWEVER.

I still cannot actually play with other people with my DS. I can connect to the WFC, but when I try to "search for opponents" in games like Mario Kart or when I click on a connected friend's town in Animal Crossing to go there, I'm met with an error code: 86420. Nintendo says this is firewall-related. I have followed advice and read up a bunch of pages on how to to set up a static IP with the DS to get around this problem, but so far no dice.

Does anybody here have any advice on how get the static IP set up so that I can get through this firewall, using the Zydas router, and play with other people on my DS?

Much thanks.
