annoying explorer problem

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-16 17:31

I would like to specify that I am not interested in using linux or recompiling my kernel or whatever and that I do have already opera installed on my computer.

Now my problem is that explorer.exe takes all my ram. Sometimes, explorer would take 90mb or even 150mb of ram. I noticed that the problem occurs because I have a dual screen setup. Each time I open explorer on the second screen, when I close it explorer.exe doesnt give back the rams. So is there a way to fix it or some program to make it spit out the ram it stole?

Having Opera on your computer is a very good first step, but you should launch it to get all the benefits!

Sounds like you have a spyware infection and/or some plugin for IE is malfunctioning. Unforunatly both are hard to get rid of. Try some scanners like Spy Sweeper, ewido, Trendmicro Anti Spyware. Uninstall any and all toolbars, download accelerators, and other crap you have and the problem might go away. If it doesn't, you're kinda fucked.

The problem lies in explorer.exe.
The solution is to install an earlier version
