eMule - What the fuck?

So I'm trying to set up eMule. I've made the right exceptions in XP firewall (using AVG, but there doesn't seem to be anything that'd limit ports in any way) and I've forwarded all the ports on my router. Still getting a big fat red X when I "test ports" in eMule. Halp plox? And I've checked out their documentation, it doesn't tell me to do much except what I've already done (having read the documentation once before) and so on.

Really? So, how's Share? I suppose it doesn't download sequentially and you can download the same file from different sources, as with eMule or BitTorrent.  How good its clients and how secure they are? Is the network as poisoned by the mafiaa? Does it have means to ensure others upload to get downloads, and does it have advanced decentraliced source exchanging systems?
