Picture Sorting

Is there a program that allows you to tag pictures (similar to danbooru)?  I hate putting pictures in folders because some would go in multiple categories.

All the tagging applications are databases anyway, so make your own in MySQL (or whatevs), tag 'em how you like and query from the CLI. Poast the results here.

I don't think you want to tag your images in the command line. you'll want to tag them using a gui. When you've tagged your images, you can then query for them in the command line.

Umm, I was going to start a new thread to do with image sorting, but I'll just ask a question here.

This is seperate from the image tagging thing, but what's the best program for sorting images?
I need something that will allow me to zoom through countless amounts of images quicker than what I would if I were to open each image up, check its contents, and drag and drop them into their folders. It's taken me half a year to sort out 15,000 images that way when I could be bothered, and that's nowhere near 10% of the amount of images I need to sort.

What I'd really like is some sort of image browser with an image preview on the same window as the file browser (sort of think what the filmstrip view in windows is like, but without the files being shown as thumbnails), and while the image is selected, you have a selection of buttons or something which you can customise to send the file to the directory you choose.

Umm, I don't know if that's easily understandable, and I doubt there's anything like that out there; it's worth a shot though.

But on the other hand, what does everyone else who have a giant amount of images use to sort it all?
