crossover supports itunes, i believe.  wine does not.  or you could run itunes under a virtual machine.

or just download gtkpod, which works fine so long as you don't try to use the ipod on itunes as well.

using iLoons is moar fail than just having an iLold

The simple fact that you are asking indicates that you should by no means be anywhere near a Linux system. gb2 windows.

since when does amarok interface to iTunes?

A lack of experience does not indicate incompetence. I'm not stupid, I just haven't used Linux (but I understand what I've read about Ubuntu).

I looked at the site and I was also confused.

I think I understand the whole crossover/wine thing, so I think I'll be able to take care of that.

You asked 'would Itunes work with Linux?'. The correct question (though incredibly stupid if you know anything about Apple, iTunes, or the world of computers as a whole) is 'Is there a Linux version of iTunes?'.

Amarok is what you want.

There is also a simpler and smaller application called gtkpod that also works well.

However, with amarok, you have a kick-ass media player to boot.

ok, OP, do you 1)just want a program that works with your iPog, or 2) want an app to buy music from iTunes?

1. Amarok will work with your iPod

2. There is currently no linux native program that works. There was sharpmusique but apple(purposely) drastically changed the protocol and broke it. After that all links to the source disappeared...fuck apple.

I don't really buy from itunes, so I think Amarok will work for me. Unless I end up with a dual-boot, in which case I just wasted a whole bunch of time.
