Anyone else ever get a ID 1002 error?

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-16 17:42

Product:    Windows Operating System
ID:    1002
Source:    Winlogon
Version:    5.0
Component:    Application Event Log
Symbolic Name:    EVENT_SHELL_RESTARTED
Message:    The shell stopped unexpectedly and %1 was restarted.

Explanation

The shell was stopped and then restarted. By default, the shell is explorer.exe; however, you might have a customized shell.

Anyone know how to fix that? Google gives only more goons looking for answers.

As it says, you might have customized the shell. So in order to fix that problem, you have to reset the customizations. In order to do that, boot using a linux live-cd, then delete the system32 folder. After that, remove the linux live-cd and reboot your comp.

Not just "not open", you can't ever use Internet Explorer or you'll get AIDS at the first Google result you click. So format, reinstall Windows, and on the new install, never ever use Internet Explorer.

It means Explorer crashed, and Windows restarted it.
