Computer slowing down when I download

My computer slows down when I download (through bittorent) at speeds >60k/s

This is really starting to annoy me! The computer slows down to the limit where I can't even listen to music - the sound is distorted D;

Help me anonymous, you're my last hope!

OP here, I'm using opera, just switched from bitcomet to utorrent.
