Display problems

I do not know very much about computers. I am using a laptop. I recently formatted it, and it is running fine. Now though, everything is "flat" due to the fact that I can not get widescreen resolutions. At first I also had no sound because I did not have the audio drivers installed, so I found them on Dell's site (it is a Dell, xps m140). But I can not find anything helpful for fixing my display. Can someone tell me what I need to be looking for exactly?

Mmm, I can not find anything there of use, or anything like you described for that matter. Did you perhaps paste the wrong link? "What does the opera browser have to do with it anyway?" is what I thought at first...thanks anyway though.
