Router mystery.

Ok I'll break it down step by step.
-I encounter slow connection problems trying to access the internet.
-I reset the router I'm connected to.
-This solves the problem

Now what is causing this slow down? The connections made are exactly the same after the reset as before. How is the router "clogging"?
