[noob] sound/heat problem

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-13 11:17

Hi /comp/
so here's the problem : if I put the sound too high, it begins to repeatedly go off with a little "scrtch" (meaning I can't hear anything, sorry for the english), for less than a second, then comes back. The higher the sound, the shorter the time between two breaks. Same goes with all files, and all media players. It used not to do that, and I can't remember anything that could have caused it.
Under audio drivers, in the... thing which lists all you got on the computer (graphic cards, etc... I don't know the name in english :/), I have :
ASUSTeK SAA7134, Hybrid capture device
RealTek High Definition Audio
I don't think the others are important, they seem to be laterly installed stuff (like codecs) (though i don't know).

Also, my computer seems to be heating too much for itself |(
Even when I have only a few things on, it makes a huge noise, and if I play some big game (Heroes V as it happens), then it will go whistling (yeah I know that's not the term.); I think it is actually an alarm for when it is too hot o_O  It even went off some times, because it was too hot... Again, it used not to do that (although it has always made a lot of noise, especially the 3 seconds just after turning it on). I guess it's the heat because I think it's the fan, though once again I don't know.

I think the sound going off is related to this heat problem, but does a higher sound uses more power ? And what can I do about this ? And why does it have this stupid problem when it used to work perfectly before ? ;_;  I mean, wtf is a computer running too fast for itself ?...

Thank you in advance /comp/, in b4 reply.
