impulse

So my university uses impulse to try to block bittorrent and make everyone install AV and antispyware programs. Problem is, the antispyware causes hiccups and the university couldn't be bothered to allow more than one antispyware program. Not only that, but the bittorrent blocking doesn't work, and I hate impulse on general principal (intrusive, worthless bullshit, to protect retards). So, this is a shot in the dark, but after several failed google attempts, I figure it's worth a try. Does anyone know of a way to subvert/hack/neuter impulse so it work, or does anyone know how the impulse system works and a way I could "impersonate" it so the university thinks it's running? in b4 trolls, but let them come, I need some luls too.

I don't really know what this Impulse thing is, but I'm wondering if you could just get a cheap crappy computer, install the software on it so it can do its reporting or whatever, and you just connect your main computer alongside it, or maybe through it?
