Torrent ports Help

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-30 15:12

I have been using Azureus for a long time and it used to works well. Recently however it is telling me I have a Firewall/NAT reachability problem.  I have it set to listen to port 6883 but I remember something about ports in a range including that one becoming unusable due to ISPs banning them (or something like that). When I heard that I opened a shitload of ports on my wireless internet homeportal that the azureus Wiki told me were some good choices but that fucked up my homeportal (it became non-responsive, a known issue for my hardware) so I went back to my original port choices since I wasn't having trouble.

Now however I need to change ports, unfortunately the azureus wiki seems to be down.  So I ask, what are some good port choices? It would also be better if I didn't ahve to open a HUGE number of ports at a time so my homeportal doesn't go nuts.

Why do you need so many fucking ports opened? Probably because Azureus is made of fail. www.utorrent.com for that matter. Also, standard ports and the lower end ports are usually worse, pick something else, there's OVER 65000!

And make sure you're forwarding your ports properly (if your router supports UPnP you don't have to forward it when using uTorrent). www.portforward.com
