My internal wireless card....

Name: Anonymous 2006-11-20 23:21

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me.. My laptop is pretty new. Only about 4 weeks old or so.. and it had an internal wireless card right inside of it. But now.. it seems has completely stopped working.. I can't find it in my network connections anymore and I've tried many times I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what happened or any way I can get it to work again.

It's a dell E1505
If you want anymore specs that might help then please ask

First make sure it is listed under Network Adapters in Device Manager.

Is there anything else I can do?

Make sure it's seated properly. Also, is it supported on some Lunix distribution? Try a LiveCD to determine if it's a hardware issue or if it's related to your Windows install. Also, maybe try the Dell diagnostics disc thing it came with?

Sadly dell was fucking retarded and didn't include a diagnostics disk or any disk for that matter...  Besides of course the disks to install the sound card and some antivirus stuff.

I dont believe i can do anything with Linux on windows can I?

Thanks for trying guys but maybe i should just go get a new one or somthing... ugh... well anyway, thanks again.

bye

What about running the diagnostics on the utility partition (press F12 when booting)? That usually has tests for all the hardware to see if it's present and functional.
