I need some help from the 4chan guru's

I've been trying for a few hours now to find something suitable for giving an entire partition/h.d.d a username /password.

the reason for this is that my kids just deleted all my banking records and business stock order sheets. basically I'm doomed, I've got to present these at a meeting on monday morning....

so if anyone has had experience with a really good utility which creates a username/password on entry to the hard drive... please let me know.

Using Windows? Password protect your user account and the administrator account. Set permissions to prevent deletion or modification by anyone but yourself. Put a password lock on the BIOS setup screen and, if possible, on booting and the hard disk itself too, and make sure the hard disk is first in the boot priority so nobody can fire up a live CD or other utility. You can turn on file encryption within Windows too, but if it's just deletion you want to protect against (not snooping), encryption makes no difference.

I see, well I came across BestCrypt7.## and it actually makes a virtual drive inside an existing partition. and then just like daemon tools you mount the virtual partition and away you go. username/password/auto-mount on startup/encrypted.

Shouldn't the files still be in the Recycle Bin?  I don't think little kids are smart enough to delete files then empty the Recycle Bin -- unless your kids are teens...
