I think my hard drive is dying

Some images on my comp are randomly dissapearing (when I try to preview them I get a message that says "preview unavailable" or something like that).

My HD is about a year or so old. It's 80 gigs.

Can someone tell me if I should switch hard drives?

I've had this problem before. I had to search a lot of forums because noone here would help me. Eventually someone on a tech support forum told me to compress ntldr, and that fixed my problem right away. I do this on every machine I can so other people don't have to worry about it as well.
