I also posted this in /g/ three times, but this board is a little more polite I think.
Last night I decided I needed to clear some room on my HD. I go to add/remove programs and start uninstalling a bunch of things - games, programs I don't use, things that seem useless in general, etc.
I then update my graphics drivers and Java versions. I restart my computer, go into BIOS and start looking at my mobo's auto overclocking features. I don't change anything, and start to boot to windows as usual. As soon as the bar stops loading the screen flashes and stalls on a black screen. It sits there for about 10 seconds then flashes again. A blue screen of death appears and the eror reads:
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.
Okay, I think, I must have fucked something up in BIOS without realizing it. I go back into BIOS and restore default settings, reboot, and the same blue screen appears after windows loads. Okay, I'll try to system restore by booting from the Windows XP install CD. I pop it in, and go to repair windows. It says that I don't have a HD installed.
WTF should I do now? I assume that either the graphics driver install was messed up or I accidentally deleted something that Windows needs to boot. Isn't there some way to get to system restore by booting to the Windows XP CD? I'd really, REALLY like to fix this without reformatting or installing Linux or Opera.
