I want to kill my ipod

So I've got an extended warranty on my ipod mini, and I want a new shuffle for snowboarding.  How can I jury rig something to create a plausible reason for it to break, for example a power surge?

whats wrong with an iPod mini when snowboarding? Its in your pocket anyways, so who gives a feck it ain't got color-screen? And the mini ain't that big that it's going to be a problem to have it in a pocket...
