cleaning a fan

I have a Freezer 64 from Arctic-Cooling.  The reason for buying it in the first place was its cooling ability (advertised as enough be enough to cool an Athlon 5000+) not its 1.0 Sone noise level.

However, as I started to upgrade my case , power supply and vga fans were all quiet enough that I could hear buzzing from the CPU fan when the others were turned off/low.

Blasted some compressed air into it and the buzzing stopped and quieted it down but now I hear ticking/clicking instead.

The thing is supposed to be warrantied for 6 years so is this something I should press the company to replace or do I need to take it apart/lube it or just blast it with more air to get the clicking to stop?

1. Peel back round sticker on rear of fan
2. Apply drop of oil to center ball-bearing
3. ???

...might be a little more complicated than that for this one.

Castrol manufacture a substance called "Pyroplex Red" in a nutshell its a synthetic red grease that wont eat through rubbers and plastics.

Its good shit, ive only seen it in like CAULK tubes though (i have a few stolen from a local haulage company)

Method: Apply non plastic coroding grease liberaly into the rear of the fan, just keep wedging that shit in untill its well lubed.

Will take a few minuites to pick back up to nominal speeds (the grease will need to warm up first)
