So, can /comp/ tell me, without breaking into trolling wars, the pros and cons of different torrenting programs are. I used to use Azureus, but it would eat up my resources, so I started using uTorrent, but I heard that it's full of spyware and limits download speed based on upload speed or something like that. What are the patrons of /comp/ using?

Read the fucking wikipedia article, faggot.

Closed source + relations with Peerfactor SARL = both a motive and a method to include spyware.  In the past, they have also included search redirections, so there is, to some degree, a precedent.  Note that a simple anti-spyware program scan will not do shit, which becomes obvious if you even have a general idea of how they work.  If there is spyware in uTorrent, it would require weeks to months of reverse engineering to find it.  From simple network usage analysis, it doesn't seem to be phoning home to anyone, but to my knowledge, no one cares enough to do a full analysis, seeing as anyone at all concerned would just use something else.
