LCD monitor issue

So I gave in and bought a 22" LCD monitor, paid over 400 for it and now I'm staring at a monitor that is brighter on the bottom and darker on the top. It's blatently obvious at almost any viewing angle I try. Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Should I return it and get a replacement?

LCDs suck for gaming if they have a high response time (like my 25ms one).

Try adjusting phase settings, etc on your monitor.
