buying c2d system - gfx/board advice needed

Name: Anonymous 2006-10-20 8:54

so the question is:
do i get an asus p5n32-sli se deluxe and 2x msi 7900 gto and hope the ram i'll buy will run at 800mhz and that i don't need dx10 compatibility for about 2 years (supposed run-time of said system), OR
do i get a 965 board (probably gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6) that is quad core ready and just a single 7900 gto (that i'll OC to near gtx speed) and then buy a quad core and a dx10 card in a year or so?

or does anyone know when the nforce590 boards are supposed to hit the market? if its really soon it would be an argument for sli ..

help me, /comp/ !

nf590 is out now. Dunno about Intel though. I'd go with the 7900GTO. WIsh I had held out for one. THe GTOs have awesome RAM, it's latency is sufficiently low that you will get close to GTX performance without OCing. Though a good OC should make it a sweet card.
