hang during usb transfer

I have a sony cybershot digital camera. my os is windows xp sp 1. when i try to transfer the photos from the camera to my computer (through usb) it hangs and i have to switch off the camera to get it out of hang. it happens all the time. the transfer works fine on other computers but this one. help.

I've found Opera is far better at USB file transfers than Firefox.

Sounds like your Windows install is broken. Either that or you have some shitty app running resident that's catching the camera whne you plug it in, and flipping out. Try getting a Mac and install Opera on it.
