Graphics Problem

Just bought a new comp, bought parts and built it (not me but a friend did for me) anyway I don't know a whole lot about computers but I have 2 GeForce 7950 GT's  that is SLI ready. It runs games fine but when I alt+tab or exit my desktop goes all fucked up and I've been reading about people having problems with this card if they utilize the SLI function. Anyone got any clue whats up with it? I'm pretty sure its not a power/heating problem as when I hit the reset button the desktop will suddenly go to normal before XP hits the logging out screen and I'm pretty sure the problem is the cards
