i'm running Gnome, and have my xorg.conf set up with:
Option "XkbLayout" "us,dvorak"
Option "XkbOptions" "grp:shift_toggle,grp_led:scroll"
which allows me to switch from a qwerty to a dvorak keymap just by hitting both shift keys. this appears to work fine except for one detail which annoys the fuck out of me.
namely, every time i open a new window, the keymap switches back to the default (in this case, us) rather than using whatever keymap i'm currently typing in. this results in half of my windows using qwerty, and half using dvorak, which is bloody annoying.
is there any way to change this behaviour so that the current keymap is persistant across different windows?
