I just recently have been having a problem with my burned data DVD-Rs. Every time I go to watch a movie (wmv, avi, etc) the audio is heavily skipping. Mind you, it's EVERY DVD-R I own. Even ones that I had burned a few months ago that used to work are crapping out on me.
I can copy the videos to my laptop, but it's a little laggy and slows the whole system. Files I play off the harddrive are ok and have no problems.
My CPU Usage when I view the movies is at 7%, so I don't think it's a memory problem.
My laptop is fairly new - bought it last October.
Other than a DVD drive issue, is there a possibility there could be another problem?
Stats are: Gateway 7500 Notebook, AMD Athlon 64, 4000+ Processor, 775 MHz, 1 GB RAM
DVD drive: HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GCA-4080N
any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
