About Ethernet Cables

/g/ a friend of mine is wondering what kind of ethernet cable to use and what is the difference between them in addition to what all the numbers mean. He isnt that good with computers so make it as simple to him. He is going to use the ethernet cable to have it go from the router to another computer in his house. He wants one that is 50 feet so anyways what is the best kind of cable to use. CAT6 FTW

Test setup: 1 windows2k pro box running FlashFXP connected through ethernet to ECKSBOCKS (20' away) running UnleashX FTP
Transfering over HARDCORE_CP_BUMFUX.avi (720mb) 

Test1: Using Cat5 cable (25' long) transfers from Win to Xbox = 1765kbps

Test2: Using Cat6 cable (Identical length) transfers from Win to Xbox = 12892kbps

Fucked around transfering shit regularly to watch on XBMC and theres definately a noticable difference, i make my own cables too and ive tried different cat5 and cat6 cables and the results generaly average the same.

Color difference just means that they had more x color dye to use as an outer.
