I kinda liked BeOS before it got killed.

Boot time < 30sec, for starters.

It kept being low on drivers & useful apps, though. And, like I said, it got killed. (Owner was bought by someone with zero interest in a quality os for PC and Mac.)

Shows the danger of closed source.
