linux+torrent=fail-on-so-many-levels

Yeah so i installed Slackware 10.2 cause windows got hosed again.
Now i need a BT client.
They all fucking sux hard.

So far ive tried...
Transmission = EPIC FAIL
(think ass cancer and aids all at the same time)

BitTornado = nightmare configuration
(i liked the windows binary, the fuckload of .py files all over my /bin makes my eyeball twitch)

Yet ABC = FUCKING LAME
(see bittornado and add a dash of pool-aids, it occurs to me that python is completely shit)

kTorrent = GLITCHRIDDEN
(this looked promising and once it was installed realization dawned that it fucking sucked nugget encrusted ass hairs, STALLED, DMT error'd)

HydroNode = C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER
(After fucking around getting dependancies for this BOOST crud and finaly installing it, it turns out that its completely COCKBITE BAD)

cTorrent = WIN wait-what?
(imppressively small and neat, ultimately turned out to be bugridden farce and suddenly discontinued and documentationless)

EnhancedCtorrent = unDELICIOUS CAKE
(see cTorrent and youve got the same shit without discontinued nonsense)

basicly all torrent clients ive tried so far have been massive failures.
I DEMAND uTorrent on linux, or something nearly as kick ass.

Set me straight /comp/

Azureus if you can put up with lol java

utorrent + wine works quite well

But yeah, native linux clients suck. ktorrent might be good one day..

there's a really nice-looking gtk-based torrent in the works, but no work has been done on the backend (lol i'm not even joking)

i still use azureus.  it doesn't seem to slow down the system near as much as it did on windows, but i had to stick a beta version on azureus2.jar in because the version in the repositories for some reason lacked a tray icon, which led to errors on startup.  now i can't automatically upgrade.

Go die in a fire.  Go crying back to Windows, we don't need you fagging up our freedom.  If uTorrent ever opens it's source, you can bet there'll be a port of it within days.  But it won't because the author is working with Peerfactor SARL.

For the record rTorrent is superior to uTorrent (once you get used to it).  Azureus is also good.  If you have a retarded grudge against Java (if you do, you have no fucking clue wtf you're talking about, but feel free to make an ass of yourself), look into GCJ.

Why the fuck have you not tried Azureus yet?

OP, if you're that big of a fucking noob that you can't even install a BT client on Slackware, you should have installed Ubuntu. I'm not preaching for Ubuntu or anything, I'm just saying it's made for idiots, so you would do well to give it a try.

rtorrent if you're not an idiot. get the newest "unstable" releases which are actually more stable than the "stable" builds.

rtorrent

If you've got a compiler and whatnot on your system, download and compile ctorrent, a commmand-line client: http://www.rahul.net/dholmes/ctorrent/
You want Release dnh2.1; click on the "Source distribution" link.

If you can get it to work, running the BitTorrent scripts from the source collection is an option, too.
