The Most Basic Online Email Providers

I have a phone right now that currently can't recieve MMS (I'm getting rid of it by the end of the year so don't tell me to get a new phone). Anyway I was getting picture mail simply by having people send the pictures to my gmail and I would download the pictures from there. Apparently recently gmail changed the way they handle images and as such my phone doesn't connect to where the picture is stored and doesn't allow me to download it.

I really liked how gmail looked in mini opera and was wondering if there are any other email services with a similar very basic design. Yahoo is too bogged down with ads and all the extra links you have to go through to actually get your email. Walla would have been perfect but for some reason doesn't refresh properly in Opera Mini and won't load any mail. I've been googling all day and joining various sites but I end up getting to the mail and having the same problems as Yahoo or very complicated mail applets.

Any suggestions?

Why the hell do you need access to mailed pictures on your mobile? Just read the text message and wait till you find a damn computer terminal to see the attachments.
