OK I have a Dell Latitude D600, which I had to clear completely due to a virus I got last year. I also have an external i/O magic DVD writer.
When I plug the device in it only shows up as a CD drive and won't read anything. I've put in the CD that came with it and have looked on the i/O website and it says that the CD is only for Windows 98 and Windows XP should have the correct drivers already. I have had problems with my laptop not having the write drivers for such things as the graphics card and the ethernet port because I cleared the laptop but I've looked all over the Dell Driver website and I don't see any drivers that could effect an external drive.
Any ideas?
