so I thought that I should update my install of BT, so I first deinstalled my old port and then made a clean install (make clean install). when I did so ports also installed a program called cairo, wich seems to be used for graphical stuff. is cairo needed for bt, and is that why it installed it?

I hear that deinstalling ports is a lot like dividing by zero
