computah haet mouse

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-11 0:21

After a format my computer decided it would be fun to randomly stop recognising my mouse. If I take it out then plug it back in again it will work again for a few more minutes, then crap out again. I know its not just the one mouse because it happens with another one, both USB. Also they worked fine before the format. Everything on the interbutts makes vauge references to hardware problems ( drivers are good ) but everything seems to be working fine after the format. No idea what to do so I figured I'd ask if anyone had a similar problem and what they did.

tl;dr  mouse randomly stops working. Halp.

Could be your usb controller dropping to power save mode. I would try disabling that.

OP here. Disabled that in device manager, and other USB devices work fine. I did more searching and it seems like a big clusterfuck of people are having the same problem. Seems like it just occurs randomly. Its not like the mouse just hangs, the computer makes that "device disconected/conected" noise and then it stops working till you fiddle around with the plug, rinse and repeat. Ill report back if i get it fixed but it seems like no known cure at this point.

Is it a corded mouse? Could be the cable got bent a little too much. I've had that happen to me before.

fack this is happening to my friends labtop, was hoping this thread would have a solution. Sounds like the exact same situation. Cords straight too.
