Ultraportable

I'm looking to buy a cheap ultraportable laptop. Something just to use for web-browsing, word processing, and probably listening to some music, maybe play a few DVDs.
I'm looking for something cheap too, like under $400. I'd like an internal DVD or CD drive, but it's not essential; I can always use USB drives and rip stuff to .avi.

What specific brands/models should I look for, and where can I find them?

Wow - there's two of you on these boards both looking for an ultraportable at the same time.  Wow.  Really.

I'm not looking for a new one. I'm aiming for <1Ghz cpu, <20GB HDD, and <256mb RAM.

So far, eBay looks like my best bet with a bunch of old Vaios for under $300.

I bought mine for 300, it was one of the best buys I have ever made

check out CSR technologies, and send them an email asking for a good battery if they have a spare

Get a calculator.  Those are totally ultraportable.

Good luck with the batteries on used <1ghz lappies. Chances are they'd be worn out twice over if that were possible.
