a few problems i need help with

okay i have a few problems that i need help on.
first of all: i have a hawkin wireless router and i keep loosing my signal to my laptop for a few minutes then it reconects.....most of the time. i would have no problems as long as it didn't screw with downloads. but it stops them and sometimes the torrents won't reactivate properly. how do i fix the signal loss problem?
second: on my desktop i am running windows media player 10 and i watch alot of subtitled anime so whenever i move my mouse it causes my control center to cover up the subtitles. i was wondering if there is a way to get the player to do the same as my laptops windows player 9 where it shrinks the show a little so the subs aren't covered. and also when i play widescreen dvds and other various shows(various codec styles) it plays it with about a one inch black border araound the video. is there also a  way to fix that so it covers the whole screen?
third:well i am blanked on what the third is so i will post it later under this thread when i remember it.

thank you,

For your video playing problem, get the CCCP codec pack which will install all the necessary codecs and player to watch. If you are using MPC that came with it or you d/l it yourself there should be an option to make it cover the whole screen. I'm assuming that you actually have a widescreen display, if you're using a "normal" aspect display then the 1 inch on top and bottom is normal. Signal Loss the easiest part is to get a better router and/or wireless card that you use to connect. Check if it's your wireless card by trying to connect to another wifi hotspot and see if the signal degradation is still a problem.

well i already have all the codecs i need to play the video it is just i need it to shrink when i play it in media player full screen and i move the mouse. and the 1 inch gap is on all four borders not just the sides or top and bottom. and it only does it for certain types of files that are widescreen and even on my laptop which is wide screen.
