Does anyone know how to prevent websites from stealing focus in opera? It is getting on my nerves lately

Opera sucks sure there's an ebuild for opera but it just get dropped to /opt, it's statically linked, and it's CLOSED SOURCE, which means that it is a BINARY package.

I simply leave Javascript disabled and enable it when I need it (have added the toggle to the UI). Makes page loading noticeably faster too. Alternatively you could disable it and then enable it for some specific sites with site specific prefs.
Anyway, I think this might be what you're looking for: tools > preferences > advanced > content > javascript options > allow raising of windows.
Or open the following link:
opera:config#Allow%20script%20to%20raise%20window

That's really the only reason I would use Opera; to try and develop pages that look good on the DS Browser. Other than that, I'd take Firefox's limitless customization over Opera's 'widgets' any day.

Limitless customization and the slowness and insane memory usage that comes with that, lol. I'll have my useful features as part of the browser rather than coded in javascript, thank you very much.

You can write to the webmasters of the websites that steal focus to tell them to stop. Make sure you tell them you use Opera.
