yeah, sounds weird, but i was wondering if there was some small device you could plug into your ethernet port that would randomly generate a working IP address to act like a proxy for looking at sites w/oall that mucking about with proxy lists. i've tried proxy lists, and usually 80% of the ones listed dont work, and the other 20% are slow as fuck. didn't have any more luck with proxy switers either, and i'd rather not power cycle everything for a new ip every time i need one. so anyone know of such a device? you'd think they would have made one by now , but i can't find one.

well, it could generate random source IPs in the packets, but then you'd never get any of those packets back, as the recipient would send packets back to the spoofed IPs, not your IPs.
the whole point of having a proxy is having some computer/device that is an intermediary, and the computer you want to be private from only sees the intermediary, and only the intermediary knows about you.
such a device as you say cannot be the intermediary because you don't have any other connection to the internet other than your isp, so all your ethernet traffic must go through your isp.
you might try getting a cheap dial-up account from your phone company for sensitive purposes.
