SPYWARE - Help Needed Badly

yeah, so basically there's a SHEET load of spyware on teh pc, and I can't use Ad-Aware to scan it because then it like closes all the programs and safe mode starts up again. WHAT I DO?

In Safe Mode, do a System Restore.  You might lose some things but that's the price you pay for being an idiot.

Depends on your resources. From best to worse:
1.Make a BartPE live Windows boot CD. Requires a working computer with XP or 2003. Load AdAware and Avast! on there. Boot up with that CD and use it to clear it of its ills. Works fine on W2k machines.
2.Download HijackThis! and run it on that computer, checking the results on a working computer.
3.If you have WinXP updates, do a run>msrt to run the Microsoft Malicious Spyware Removal Tool. Or download it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en. Then do Add/Remove programs first in safe mode, to get rid of the bad and obvious stuff, and remove other stuff slowly in AdAware.
4.Restore point.
5.Reformat.

In worst cases Format or get a new OS.

Yeah tell the guy to use HijackThis! What if he has no experience with it and deletes vital things? Why not just tell him to dive into the registry and delete random items until its fixed?

1. Wipe hard drive
2. Install Linux
3. Profit!
